Create your own route…

and join us for a walk around Marpissa!

‘Routes in Marpissa’ invite you for the third year running to the experiential cultural feature festival which will take place on 24, 25 and 26 August in Marpissa under the auspices of the Paros Municipality.

The voluntary group of ‘Routes’ is planning three days of fun, learning and art, with concerts, workshops, exhibitions, lectures and games involving architecture, folklore, the environment, visual arts and music. We will help you discover the unique features of the village through the suggested routes within the traditional settlement. Inspired by the village and accompanied by the residents, join us to walk together through Marpissa.

The ‘Routes in Marpissa’ festival was brought into being by virtue of the common vision of a group of volunteers of different ages who, brought together by their love for the village, seek to throw into relief the original character of the village and its dwellers. Our initiative aims to encourage teamwork and active involvement of residents and visitors, while enhancing social relationships and developing the participants’ creativity.

The chief idea behind ‘Routes in Marpissa’ is the suggestion of thematic routes within the core of Marpissa’s traditional settlement. The framework of the three-day festival activities evolves around the following four thematic axes: architecture, visual arts, folklore and music. The festival is offered to residents of Paros as well as to visitors to the island.

Every day, 19.00-22.00 visitors can play with the festival volunteers and create their own route through the 11 stations of “Routes in Marpissa”! Get the map with the game instructions, wander around the settlement, discover the stations and gather the clues that will lead you to the “finish line”. Enjoy!!!
